Privacy policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026. This page explains what personal data PropertyBuddy collects, why, who it is shared with, and your rights.
Who we are
PropertyBuddy (thepropertybuddy.ie) is run by a sole trader based in Dublin, Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page. You can contact us by phone or WhatsApp on +353 089 655 6439, or through the enquiry form.
What we collect
- What you send us through the enquiry form or on WhatsApp: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the Irish address, Eircode or Daft.ie link of the property you are asking about, the report you choose, and anything you add in your message.
- Records of any report you order and pay for.
- Anonymous visit statistics from Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.
Why we use it, and the legal basis
- To answer your enquiry. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to you.
- To prepare and deliver a report you order, and to contact you about it. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To keep business and tax records. Legal basis: legal obligation.
We do not send marketing unless you ask us to.
The property address you give us
You give us a property address or Eircode so we can research that property. If it is not your own home, you confirm you have a genuine reason to research it, for example because you are thinking of buying it. We use it only to answer your enquiry and produce your report.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the website and the business:
- Formspree, which receives the enquiry form and forwards it to us.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and provides the anonymous visit statistics.
- Google, which provides the font used on this website (Google Fonts receives your IP address when a page loads).
- Our email provider, and the payment provider used for your order.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us that way.
We do not sell your data. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
Where your data is processed
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, countries outside the European Economic Area, such as the United States. Where they do, they rely on legal safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an order: deleted within 12 months.
- Orders and payment records: kept for six years, as Irish tax law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, contact us by phone or WhatsApp on +353 089 655 6439, or through the enquiry form. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
